On a Battlestar..

So I'm taking ASL classes starting Saturday. I'm kind of excited, my ASL knowledge is pretty limited and I'm really looking forward to expanding it to a usable level. I was recently working in a situation where about half of the people around me were deaf, and most of the other half could sign. Nothing gives you a kick in the ass to learn better then being thrown in the thick of it, huh?

The others were really great about not letting us (we, the non-signers) get left out, and were happy to teach us as we went. Of course this lead to the teaching of such useful signs as "Fuck you" and "Bullshit." I'm very proud. I can also ask where the bathroom is. Win.

Great speech by President Obama followed by the GOP rebuttle. My issue is with the pre-written response. He several times even touched on the same issues with the same responses, but was so negative. Bi-partisan is the ONLY way. I will continue not to understand how our government can keep doing nothing but fight with each other year after year. *crosses fingers for real action*

It seems I never did any real posting here as well. I'm the reader not the writer. Oh well, back in the game. Dreamwidth has gotten alot bigger since 2009, time to do some exploring.

Ok, first entre over here, I'd just like to inform you (and again, you SO know who you are) that I am about to watch the first ep of torchwood. I hope I love it as much as you guys do...and that there is hottness..because the dvd's were 70 some odd dollars. lol. Off I go!
